Online Dating Questions Not to Ask - Part 3

Everyone who meets someone online is excited about getting to know them better. If there is a connection, you want to know right away. You should avoid asking a thousand questions however and stick to general topics at first. If you do start asking questions, even though you are not trying to, you might seem overbearing. You need to be patient and take things slowly. This will ensure that you create a natural environment in which you can evaluate if you have a connection or not.

Personal Questions

Stay away from asking personal questions. You can ask about your date's family or friends, but don't even think about asking about personal family issues or things like that. Anything personal your date wants to reveal is fine, but don't try to pry. You should seem interested, but not crazy! So, be sure to keep the conversation on personal issues very general. Ask about their job, their favorite things, and what they love to do in their spare time. This will be a good place to start.

Physical Questions

If you have not met each other yet, you might want to be careful about how many physical questions you ask your online date. You may ask for a photo, but don't try to ask them their weight or height. Anything you can't determine in the photo, you will see for yourself when you meet. If you start asking really in depth physical questions, your date will only think you are shallow.
